Happy Social Security clients often write to us to tell us how we have helped, what solutions we have offered that worked and what benefits they have received from the Federal, State and local governments. We recieved this letter recently from a Social Security Disability Income ("SSDI") claimant on whose behalf Doug Landau of the Herndon law firm ABRAMS LANDAU was successful:
"I am so glad I met you and Dianna. Our meeting together was the most relaxing lawyer experience I have ever experienced. Because of my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Dissociative Identity Disorder, I can easily be triggered by one being disrespectful."
At Abrams Landau, Ltd. we often have cases where people have more than one type of claim. Injured and disabled workers from DC, Virginia and Maryland frequently come to our Herndon law office after a car crash while on the job. These injuries leave innocenty workers disabled to a degree that they become potentially eligible for Social Security Disability benefits from the Federal government in addition to their state workers compensation Awards. The Landau Law Shop has won cases for disabled workers, getting the workers comp benefits, car crash settlements and even Federal Social Security Disability.
These are complicated cases. In my opinion, few attorneys understand the procedures and strategies needed to balance the needs of a plaintiff with multiple potential claims and financial offsets. As Medicare and Social Security become more limited and complicated it is important that attorneys understand the interplay between such claims.
Additionally, attorneys and their staff must be well informed and understanding of clients’ issues and limitations. Both knowledge and compassion are integral parts to a successful legal practice.
