Recalled Dog Leash Subject of Injury Suit

While we have helped adults and children who have been bitten and attacked by dogs, and we are aware of cases for eye injuries caused by bungee cords and retractable lines, this is the first dog leash injury case we have seen.

A recalled dog leash is the subject of a child’s personal injury lawsuit. The family of a 13-year-old Dallas-area girl filed a lawsuit this week against the manufacturer of a recalled retractable dog leash over injuries that left the girl partially blind in one eye. According to the lawsuit, Worldwise Inc. and the retailer Dollar General store failed to properly warn the public about hazards associated with the "SlyDog retractable leash." The child’s personal injury lawsuit seeks damages for losses associated with the incident. The "SlyDog leash" was recalled from stores last September.
